On Thursday October 1st 2020 at 08:45 A.M. Members responded to the 700 block of 10th street after receiving a third party complaint of a possible Domestic Violence situation.  Upon arrival a 23 year female from Brandon disclosed she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.  The investigation lead to a 27 year male from Brandon being charged for assault.  He was served an appearance notice to appear in court on November 5th, 2020.

 

On 2020-10-01 in the early afternoon a report of a Domestic Violence situation was made to police.  Members attended to the area of the 1500 block of Lorne Avenue searching for possible subjects.  A check was conducted on a male subject fitting the description of one of the subjects.   During this check the 24 year male was found to have a warrant for his arrest for Use of a credit card.  The male was arrested and released to appear in court on November 5th, 2020.  No disclosure of assault was made for the initial complaint. 

On 2020-10-01 a report was received from a resident in the 200 block of Queens Avenue that a male subject was observed on the complainants home surveillance system in their back yard.  The subject, who is known to the complainant is currently bound by a protection order not attend to this residence and stay at least 200 meters away from the complainant.  A warrant has been requested for a 36 year old Virden man.

On 2020-10-01 at approximately 12:50 P.M. a traffic stop was conducted in the 1700 block of Highland Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle was found to be driving without a valid licence.  The license plate on the vehicle was also found to be off another vehicle.  The member conducting the stop observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.  The 35 year old driver from British Columbia and a 21 year old female were placed under arrest.  A search of the vehicle incidental to the arrest resulted in the seizure of Methamphetamines, Fentanyl, and stolen identification which included two Canadian Passports.  Both subjects were held in custody to appear in court on October 2nd, 2020.

On 2020-10-01 at approximately 06:30 P.M. a report was received that an assault had occurred in the 800 block 16th street.  Members attended to the area and spoke to the 22 year old female victim.  She disclosed that she had been assaulted by a man known to her.  The investigation lead to an 18 year old Brandon resident being taken into custody.  The subject was released on an appearance Notice to attend court on November 30th, 2020. 

On 2020-10-01 shortly after 8 P.M. the Brandon Police Service was notified by the Neepawa RCMP that they had executed a Brandon Police Service endorsed warrant of arrest for Possession of Stolen Property, Fail to Comply with Probation and Trafficking.  A 55 year old male resident of Minnedosa was released to appear in court on November 9th, 2020. 

On 2020-10-01 at approximately 12:50A.M. a traffic stop was conducted in the 000 block of 26th street.  During the stop the male driver was found to under the influence of alcohol.  A 22 year Virden resident was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and Drive with more than 80 mg%.  He was released to appear in court on October 8th, 2020.
