Brandon Fire & Emergency Services Prevention Division requires permits or completed forms in order to comply with the Fire Prevention and Open Air Fire Policies. The Permits section below provides links to the information packages and permit applications. The Forms section provides links to Fire Prevention forms.


Fire Pit Permit

Fire pit permit applications can be completed online by clicking here

If you do not have online access, a paper copy of the permit can be obtained at either Fire Hall (#1 Fire Hall at 120 19th St N or #2 Fire Hall at 1301 13th St). Any questions can be emailed to fire@brandon.ca. Permits are issued subject to any applicable fees as set out in the City of Brandon Fee Schedule. If paying in person, you can do so at #1 Fire Hall Monday to Friday 8 am – 4:15pm. The office is closed from 12 – 1 pm. Only cash or cheque is accepted.

Note: Only current permit applications will be accepted. It is not necessary to renew fire pit permits every year. A new application is required if there has been a change in information from the original application or in property ownership. An inspection of the proposed site/appliance will be required prior to use of the appliance and issuance of the permit. The appliance must be installed prior to inspection.

The use of outdoor burning appliances are limited to the hours between 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. Fires shall be supervised at all times so as to prevent their spread.

No person shall purchase fireworks, fire, set off, or otherwise ignite any fireworks in or above the
City except under a permit issued by the Fire Chief which is required to be in compliance with the
conditions of the Brandon Fire and Emergency Services Regulation "31".
