Dangerous Driving

On March 8, 2020, police received a report of a dangerous driver. Witnesses report that the driver was travelling at excessive speeds while travelling on Hwy 110 near the intersection of Victoria Ave e shortly before 8:00 pm.

The 17-year-old male driver also posted video of his speeds onto his Snapchat app, causing other witnesses to contact police out of concern for his dangerous driving. The speeds were in excess of 200 km/h. .

Police located and arrested the male youth at approximately 9:00 pm, while he was parked in his vehicle. The vehicle he was operating was seized. He will appear in court on April 7, 2020 on a charge of Dangerous driving. He was released to a parent.

 

Arrest Warrant

On March 8, 2020, a 21-year-old female contacted police from the home of a relative, as she was aware of an arrest warrant in effect for her arrest, and she wished to turn herself in to police. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Robbery with Violence, Fail to comply with Probation, and Fail to comply with Undertaking.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On March 9, 2020, police observed a female pedestrian in the 800 block of 7th street shortly before 3:00 am. The female was to abide by a curfew. The 22-year-old female was arrested and will appear in court on April 27, 2020 on a charge of Fail to comply with Release Order.

 

Theft Under $5000

On February 28, 2020, police received a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 1000 block of Victoria Ave. The female suspect fled in a cab, but was later identified, as her image was captured on the business security cameras. Police learned she was also to abide by conditions not to attend the business. She located on March 8, 2020, arrested, and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre. She will appear in court today on charged of Theft Under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Probation.

 

Theft Under $5000

On March 8, 2020, police received a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 1600 block of 18th street shortly after 5:00 pm. Three female youth fled the business carrying three bottles of vodka.

The females were located a short distance away at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street and arrested.

A 16-year-old female youth will appear in court on May 5, 2020 on charges of Theft Under $5000 and Consume Liquor by a Minor under the Liquor, Gaming, Cannabis Control Act. Due to her level of intoxication upon arrest, and the fact that she was uncooperative, she was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre until sober, to prevent any further issues.

Two 14-year-old female youth will appear in court on April 14, 2020, on charges stemming from outstanding arrest warrants for False Fire Alarm, and Fail to Attend Court. They were each released to responsible adults.
