Arrest Warrants

On March 13th at 07:18 am, Police were called to a residence on Westaway Bay for a residential alarm. No forced entry was observed at the residence, but a 41-year-old male was arrested as he had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend for fingerprints. He was released for court on April 11th, 2024.

 

On March 13th at 08:26 am, a male turned himself into Brandon Police as he was aware he had an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release order. A 22-year-old male was arrested and held for court on March 13th, 2024.

 

On March 14th at 02:03 am, Police conducted a pedestrian check in the 600 block of 18th street. A 39-year-old male was arrested as he had an outstanding warrant for assault. He was released for court on May 16th, 2024.

 

Break In

On March 13th at 10:15 am a business in the 3500 block of McDonald Avenue reported suspect(s) had entered a fenced compound overnight and stole three chainsaws. There were also mailboxes damaged at an apartment complex in the 3400 block of McDonald Avenue that may be related. This matter is still under investigation.

Assault

On March 13th at 10:57 am police received a call from a resident in the 500 block of 7th street reporting a male known to him attended his residence and assaulted him. No serious injuries were reported. A 34-year-old male was arrested and held for court on March 14th, 2024. The accused was also charged for breaching his undertaking by having contact with the victim.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 13th at 9:37 pm Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 2500 block of McDonald Avenue. A 21-year-old female was arrested as she was found to be the cause of the issues. She will be released in the morning.

 

Prohibited Driving and Assault Police Officer

On March 14th at 01:08 am Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 100 block of 20th street. The male driver of the vehicle provided a breath sample resulting in a warning. He was also found to be a prohibited driver. When the officer told the driver he was under arrest he ran, and a foot pursuit ensued. While effecting the arrest the driver struck the officer in the face. At this same time the female passenger jumped behind the wheel of the vehicle and drove away. Responding officers were able to locate the vehicle. The female showed signs of impairment but blew just under the legal limit. The 41-year-old female was arrested for obstructing police. She was released for court on May 24th, 2024. The 39-year-old male was arrested for assaulting an officer, prohibited driving, and resisting arrest. He will be released for court on May 24th, 2024.
