Structure Fire

On March 12, 2020, at 9:35 pm, police responded to assist members of Brandon Fire Emergency Services at a structure fire to a residence in the 200 block of 12th St N.

The lone occupant and two pet dogs evacuated the home. The occupant was transported to BRHC due to smoke inhalation.

Police do not consider the cause of the fire to be suspicious, as it is believed to have been caused in a cooking accident.

 

Assault

On March 3, 2020, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. Two youth in the home had locked themselves in a bathroom to separate themselves from their mother.

Investigation into the situation in cooperation with Child and Family Services revealed that the youth had been the victims of multiple past assaults by their mother in which they sustained minor injuries.

The 44-year-old female was arrested and will appear in court on May 7 2020 on 6 counts of Assault.

 

Assault

On March 12, 2020, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence at approximately 4:30 pm. A 54-year-old male had assaulted the victim by grabbing their neck and striking their face. The victim did not require medical attention. The male suspect was arrested and will appear in court on May 7, 2020 for Assault.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 12, 2020, shortly before 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of individuals who felt threatened by an intoxicated male in the 1000 block of Victoria Ave. The complainants did not know the male. Police arrested the 45-year-old male and lodged him at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent his behavior from escalating.

 

Arrest Warrants

Nine individuals were located and arrested on March 12, 2020 on outstanding arrest warrants.
