Assault Peace Officer
On March 9, 2020, at approximately 4:45 pm, police attended to a residence assist with a youth who was acting out, and caregivers could not prevent the youth's threatening behavior from escalating, or keep the youth safe. The youth’s behavior grew even more concerning, as they were intentionally smearing their own blood on the wall. When police tried to arrest the youth to prevent the continuance of the behavior, they kicked one of the officers, and spit at them.
The youth received medical attention before being lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre, as the youth's caregivers were unable to keep them from acting out or keep them safe. The youth will appear in court on April 14, 2020 on a charge of Assault Peace Officer.
Breach of Peace
On March 9, 2020, police received a report of a male who was acting inappropriately at a business in the 800 block of Middleton Ave at approximately 7:30 pm. The male was wondering around wearing only underwear, trying to gain access to various areas in the business, and disturbing other patrons. The 36-year-old male subject was intoxicated upon arrest. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to prevent the continuation of his behavior.
Arrest Warrant
On March 9, 2020, while attending to a separate matter at approximately 2:45 pm, police located and arrested a 32-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
Fail to Comply with Release Order
On March 10, 2020 at approximately 3:15 am, police observed a vehicle parked in the 2200 block of 9th street. Police were familiar with the vehicle and its owner, who was to abide by conditions not to attend Brandon. When police checked the vehicle, the owner was inside, crouched down to avoid being seen by police. The 31-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Release Order.
