At approx. 7:55 AM Saturday morning, members attended to a residence in the 900 block 3rd Street North for a dispute involving a tenant in the residence.  The 19 year old male, who was the cause of the problems, resides in the basement unit.  He went to the main floor, while intoxicated, and refused to leave despite being requested to multiple times.  As a result, he was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to sober up.

Shoplifter Facing Multiple Charges:

At about 2:45 PM Saturday afternoon, a manager from Winners reported a male suspect had stolen merchandise and left the store towards 18th Street North; he was not located in the area.  At about 3:30 PM, a caller reported a similarly described suspect at a downtown hotel, with a basket of meat. A 37 year old male suspect, originally from Swan River, was located in the beverage room and found to have the merchandise stolen from Winners. He also had over $200.00 in meat stolen from Safeway.  It was also learned that the suspect is on a Release Order for charges from Swan River, and is to reside at a family member’s residence in Brandon; however, he has not been staying there.  The accused falsely identified himself to Police using a family member’s personal information, and was only identified after further investigation.  As a result, the accused was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear before a Justice today facing two counts of theft under $5000, failing to comply with conditions of a release order, and personation with intent.

Business Break, Enter, & Theft:

Just before 5:00 AM this morning, a member on patrol observed two male suspects running in the 200 block 5th Street, one of whom was carrying a television, which was abandoned when the suspects spotted Police.  Investigation showed that two males had broken into a business located in that area by smashing a window and, once inside, tore the large screen TV from its’ base and exited via a door.  The matter is still under investigation.
