Flight From Police

Just prior to 1:00 pm on July 2nd police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 300 block of 27th St.  The vehicle refused to stop and fled eastbound on Victoria Ave. A female exited the passenger side of the vehicle on the 2600 block of Victoria Ave and the vehicle continued to flee.  The female was spoken to and provided a false name to police. She was also found to have a small quantity of meth on her.  The male was identified and arrested later on in the overnight hours.  As a result a 23 year old female was arrested for personation and possession of meth. She was released with an appearance notice to appear in court on September 14th.  A 33 year old male was arrested for flight from police and for breaching his undertaking.  He was lodged to appear before a JJP in the morning.

 

Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Just prior to 2:00 pm on July 2nd police responded to a residence on the 700 block of 9th Street with regards to an intoxicated male that that was causing problems.  When police arrived the male was holding an axe in a threatening manner.  After a few minutes of negotiation the male dropped the axe and was taken into custody. A 54 year old male was arrested for breaching his release order by consuming liquor and possessing a weapon.  He was also arrested for possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.  He was medically cleared and lodged to appear before a JJP in the morning.

 

Uttering Threats

On June 25th a male on a bicycle was riding past a residence on Garwood Dr.  There were two children playing in the front yard.  The male yelled at the children that he was going to kill them and their father.  The male was identified however cannot be located.  A warrant is being sought for a 31 year old male for uttering threats.

 

Fraud Food Dining / Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Shortly after 8:00 pm police responded to a restaurant on the 1700 block of Park Ave with regards to a person refusing to pay their bill.  A 33 year old male was arrested for Fraud Food Dining and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime as he was found to be in possession of a stolen bank card.  He was released with an Undertaking with a court date of Aug 28th.

 

Sexual Assault / Sexual Interference

On June 18th a complaint was received that a 14 year old female victim was sexually assaulted by a known male. A 23 year old male was arrested for sexual assault and sexual interference. He was released with an undertaking to appear in court in August 28th. While arresting the male an officer was bit by a large dog.  The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from BRHC. 

 

Breach Court Order

Shortly after 3:00 am on July 3rd police conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Av West near Governors Road.  A 16 year old passenger in the vehicle was found to be in breach of her curfew.  She was arrested and released with an appearance notice to appear in court on August 28th.

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

Shortly after 11:00 pm police responded to an intoxicated female on the 1st Street bridge.  The 25 year old female was lodged at BPS to ensure her safety.  She spoke with Mobile Crisis in the morning and was released.
