Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Domestic Assault

On July 23rd, officers attended a disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of 11th St. A man at the scene was transported to the hospital with a wound from a pellet gun in his upper arm. He was treated for several pellet wounds to his legs and arms and disclosed to police that his girlfriend had shot him. A 39 year old woman from Brandon was arrested on Friday night on a charge of Assault with a Weapon and was released to appear in court in September.  

Possession of Cocaine

A 22 year old man from Sioux Valley was arrested for Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of Trafficking on Saturday morning. After a vehicle was stopped in the 1800 block of Louise Ave, the driver had open liquor in the vehicle. He was searched and had 10 grams of individually packaged cocaine hidden on his person. He will appear in court in October.

Other Arrests

Two people were lodged for Breach of Peace or under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

A 44 year old man from Portage was arrested on a warrant for Failing to Attend Court. He was held until sober and released to appear in court in September.

An 18 year old from Brandon was arrested for breaching a release order. He was lodged until sober and released to appear in court in September.

A 32 year old man from Brandon was arrested for breaching a curfew condition of a probation order. He was released to appear in court in September.

A 26 year old woman from Brandon was arrested for breaching a curfew condition of a release order. She was released to appear in court in October.
