Possession of a Weapon

A 19 year old man from Brandon was charged with Possession of a Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon on Friday afternoon. Officers located the man in the area of 14th St and Louise Ave following a report a male who had brandished a weapon at another man on Thursday. The accused matched description provided. He had a large machete hidden in his pants. He was arrested and released for court in October.

Mischief Under $5000

A 38 year old Brandon man was arrested for Mischief Under $5000 on Friday evening. Officers responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of a coffee shop on 18th St where witnesses reported the suspect had smashed the windshield and passenger window out a vehicle. There was an argument between several people when the suspect was observed chatting with another male’s girlfriend. During the argument, the accused took a hammer out of his truck and smashed the windows. He was arrested at the scene and released to appear in court in October.

Assault

A 34 year old Brandon man was arrested for Assault on Friday night. A woman reported her husband was throwing things around their house and had struck her in the head. Officers attended and arrested the man. He was released to appear in court in October.

Stabbing

A man staying at a hotel on 18th St North reported he was in his room at the hotel when several people entered. The man was assaulted by a male suspect who shot him with a BB gun and struck him. A female suspect sliced him on his arm and hand with a knife. The victim was intoxicated at the time of the incident and could not provide further details. He was transported to BRHC for treatment and the incident is still under investigation.

Assault

Around 3:00 am on Saturday morning, a call was received regarding a man who had been assaulted and found behind a hotel on Pacific Ave. The man had serious injuries to his head and face and was transported to BRHC for treatment. He could not provide officers with many details. The injuries are not life threatening and the incident is still being investigated.

Other Arrests

1 person was lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

A 20 year old Brandon woman was arrested on a warrant for Breach of Probation. She will appear in court in September.
