Drive while Ability Impaired

At approximately 2030 hours, a 20 year old male was stopped in the 200 block of 18th Street for speeding. A strong odour of spent cannabis emanated from the vehicle interior, and grounds were formed to arrest the male for impaired driving. The male provided blood samples and failed the DRE evaluation. The accused was charged and released on an Appearance Notice to attend court on Feb 27, 2020.

Break Enter and Commit Assault

At approximately 2115 hours, a female could be heard screaming for help in the area of the 300 block of 18th Street by a BPS officer who was involved in a traffic stop in the area. BPS members attended and found that a male had forced his way into his ex girlfriend’s residence. The front door of the home was damaged from the entry, and once inside the male grabbed his ex girlfriend and threw her against the wall and onto the floor. The female was able to flee the home and call for help, resulting in the police response. The accused male fled the home, however, was apprehended in the 300 block of 17th Street. The 36 year old male was intoxicated, and lodged at BCC for release when sober to attend court on March 19, 2020 to answer to the charges.

Fail to Comply with Undertaking x 2

At approximately 2245 hours, a disturbance was reported at a residence in the 1100 block of Rosser Avenue. The accused male was at the residence of his girlfriend where he was involved in a dispute with another male. The accused was intoxicated and is currently on an Undertaking not to consume intoxicants and to reside at an address which actually doesn’t exist. The 31 year old male was arrested and lodged at BCC for remand in this morning.

Operation of a conveyance while Prohibited

At approximately 0325 hours, a traffic stop was initiated in the 2600 block of Vanhorne Ave as the license plates were inactive. A CPIC query revealed the driver was prohibited from driving. The 24 year old male was arrested and released on an Appearance Notice, issued tickets for driving while suspended and driving without liability insurance. The accused will attend court on April 20, 2020.
