Possession of Child Pornography

On April 3rd at 07:31 am members of the Major Crime Section with Brandon Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Stickney Avenue. A 20-year-old male was arrested for possession of Child pornography. He was held for court on April 4th, 2024.

 

Assault with a weapon

On April 3rd Police arrested a 33-year-old female and a 30-year-old male for assault and assault with a weapon. On Dec 29th, 2023, Police received a report of child abuse from a residence on Westaway Bay. Investigation revealed an 11-year-old male and a 13-year-old male had been assaulted with a broom.The pair were released for court on May 30th, 2024.

 

Assault and Uttering threats

On April 3rd at 12:23 pm Police received a call of a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of Bracrest. A 35-year-old male called to report a female he lived with woke up on the wrong side of the bed as she was hitting him and damaging items in the residence. Upon Police arrival the female disrobed and jumped in the shower and became throwing shampoo and conditioner bottles at officers. A 37-year-old female was arrested. She also threatened to kill the arresting officer, his children and burn down his house. She was later released for court on June 20th, 2024.

 

Arrest Warrant

On April 3rd at 3:20 pm a 13-year-old female turned herself into Brandon Police as she was aware she had an outstanding warrant for Breaching her probation. She was arrested and released for court on June 11th, 2024.

 

Intoxicated Person

On April 3rd at 7:30 pm Police received a call of a female wandering around in traffic on 18th street north by the Coral Center. Members from Brandon Fire Department tried to talk to the female to see if she was ok, but she became aggressive with them. An intoxicated 52-year-old female was arrested and will be released in the morning.

 

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

On April 3rd at 10:43 pm Police received a weapon call at a residence in the 00 block of Willowdale Cresent. A 32-year-old male said he was threatened with bear mace by a 27-year-old male and 27-year-old female in a vehicle. Officers spoke with the vehicle occupants, and they advised the homeowner came out of his residence and pointed a handgun at them. Other witnesses confirmed the handgun account. Members of the Major Crime Unit conducted a search warrant at the residence and located a pellet gun that had been used to intimidate the pair in the vehicle. The 32-year-old male caller was arrested for pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was later released for court on June 3rd, 2024.

 

Possession for the purpose of trafficking Methamphetamine

On April 4th at 02:02 am police conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Brandon Avenue. A 28-year-old female and a 35-year-old male were arrested as drug paraphernalia was visible. Further search of the vehicle located a can of pepper spray, 50 grams of meth and over $400 in cash. The pair were later released for court on June 13th, 2024.

 

Domestic assault

On April 4th at 00:17 am Police received a call of a disturbance at a residence on Garwood Drive. A 17-year-old female reported that her intoxicated father punched her mother. A 42-year-old male was arrested, he had an outstanding warrant for assault and was also charged for breaching his undertaking by having contact with the victim. The accused was held for court on April 4th, 2024.
