Assault by Choking

On May 30, 2023, at 9:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence after witnesses reported seeing a male assault a female.  Investigation into the incident led police to arrest a 21-year-old male and lodge him at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Assault, Assault by Choking, Uttering Threats and Fail to Comply with Release Order X4.  The adult female victim suffered minor injuries, and was treated at the hospital.

 

Mischief Under $5000

On May 30, 2023, shortly after 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a male who had damaged the glass on a city bus shelter in the 000 block of 8th street.  The 33-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on July 13, 2023 on a charge of Mischief Under $5000.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On May 30, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a business in the 4000 block of Victoria Ave.  Suspects gained access overnight by cutting a hole in the fence, then cutting locks off individual storage units to gain access.  It is unknown if anything was stolen.

Arrest Warrant

On May 30, 2023, an 18-year-old female turned herself into Brandon Police Service, as she knew she was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Probation.  She was later released to appear in court on July 24, 2023.

 

Breach of the Peace

On May 30, 2023, shortly after 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual harassing customers at businesses near the 800 block of 18th street.  The 44-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
