Warrants Executed

On Friday morning, while at an unrelated incident, police located a female in the 800 block of Princess Avenue who is wanted on an arrest warrant.  The 21-year-old Brandon female was arrested for failing to attend court.  She was held in custody for court later in the day.

On Friday morning, Brandon Police Service members arrested a 46-year-old male with no fixed address on the strength of an RCMP warrant for failing to comply with a release order.  The male was held in custody for court in the afternoon.

On Friday afternoon, members of the Neepawa RCMP arrested a 21-year-old Brandon male on the strength of an unendorsed warrant held by Brandon Police.  The male was wanted for pointing a firearm, utter threats and assault.  The male was held in custody for court.

 

Assault

On Friday morning, police arrested a 25-year-old Brandon man after his spouse reported that she had been assaulted.  The female victim did not require medical attention.  The male suspect was released and will appear in court in November.

 

Court Order Violations

On Friday afternoon, police received an anonymous complaint about two people causing a disturbance in 2800 block of Victoria Avenue.  Both were located and the male involved was found in possession of a knife and a stolen debit card.  The 16-year-old male from Brandon is bound by the conditions of an undertaking and is not to possess weapons.  The male was arrested for failing to comply with his undertaking, possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.  He was released from custody and will appear in court in November.

 

Prohibited Driver

Early Friday evening, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue.  The 65-year-old male driver, from Minnedosa, was found to be prohibited from driving, Canada wide.  The male was arrested and released from custody and will appear in court in December.

 

Firearm Possession

At midnight, members of BPS conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of College Avenue.  Two male passengers, a 24-year-old from Brandon and a 27-year-old from Justice, were found in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and a .22 caliber rifle with ammunition.  Both males are subject of Prohibition orders, prohibiting them from being in possession of a firearm.  Both males were arrested and charged with numerous firearms related offences.  The Brandon male was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.  Both males were released from custody and will appear in court in December.
