Uttering Threats – Resist Arrest

On May 28, 2023, shortly after 9:00 am, police responded to a report of a customer who was behaving in a threatening manner towards employees at a retail business in the 800 block of 18th street N.  The male threatened to shoot up the store.  He left the business but come back while police were there. 

When police attempted to arrest him he resisted and was about to leave.  Police deployed a conducted energy weapon to prevent him from resisting further and escaping.  The male was not in possession of any weapons upon his arrest.

The 60-year-old male was later released to appear in court on July 27, 2023 on charges of Uttering Threats, Resist Arrest, and Cause Disturbance.

 

Possession of a Weapon

On May 28, 2023 at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of two males fighting in the area of the 500 block of Dennis Street, and one was armed with a knife.  Police located and arrested both males near the 400 block of Park Street.

The 20-year-old male was still in possession of the knife contrary to his release order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released today to appear in court on July 10, 2023 on charges of Possession of a Weapon and Fail to comply with Release Order.

The 22-year-old male who was fighting him was lodged at Brandon Police Service for Breach of the Peace to prevent his actions from continuing. 

 

Assault

On May 29, 2023 shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence.  The suspect fled the home following the assault, but he was located nearby and arrested.  The 32-year-old male was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will be released this morning to appear in court on July 31, 2023 on a charge of Assault.  The victim did not require medical attention.

 

Assault

On May 28, 2023, shortly before 3:00 pm police responded to a report of a fight between two individuals at a residence.  Investigation revealed that a 28-year-old female and a 29-year-old male had assaulted each other causing minor injuries.  Both individuals were arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  They will each appear in court today on charges of Domestic Assault.

 

Breach of the Peace

On May 28, 2023, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence shortly before 7:00 am.  Investigation revealed that a 34-year-old intoxicated male was causing issues.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released when sober.
