Theft Under $5000
At approx. 6:00 PM on Friday evening Police were called to an address in the 700 block of Rosser Ave for a female that was in the hallways “yelling and screaming about Satan”. Upon arrival, officers located the 28-year-old Brandon female still inside the building. She was believed to be under the influence of a drug, presumably Meth. She was originally arrested for breach of the peace; however, she was identified as a suspect from a theft from a retail store in the 800 block of 18th St. The theft occurred on Feb 25th and the accused was recorded on the in-store video system. Officers arrested her for the theft and then lodged her at the Brandon Correctional Centre. She will be released once sober for a future court date.
Domestic Assault
At approx. 6:15 Friday evening, two citizens advised police that they had just witnessed a male assaulting a female in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. Officers attended and located the female victim; however, the male had already fled. Further investigation has led police to believe the two are in a relationship and the male has assaulted the female on several occasions within the last few weeks. Police know the 23-year-old Brandon male suspect, however at this point he has not been located. Officers are continuing to look for the suspect and a warrant for his arrest is being obtained.
Arrest Warrant Executed
At 12:20 this morning, officers checked a male in the 800 block of College Ave. The male, who is very well known to police, was found to be the subject of a warrant of arrest for possession of a controlled substance, failing to attend for identification, and two counts of failing to attend court. The 41 year old Brandon male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in court later this morning.
At approx. 5:00 AM today, officers checked a male in the back lane of the 400 block of 1st St. Once identified the male was found to be the subject of a warrant of arrest for the charge of theft under $5000. Given the 40-year-old Brandon male met the requirements for release, the warrant was executed and he was released with a court date of March 26th 2020.
