Assault Cause Bodily Harm

On June 27, 2023 shortly after 10:00 pm, police responded to an assault, which occurred in the 000 block of 8th street.  Investigation revealed that two individuals assaulted a third before fleeing.  They were located and arrested nearby.

The 25-year-old female suspect was to abide by conditions not to have any contact with her co-accused, and she was wanted on outstanding charges of Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Release Order and Fail to comply with Undertaking.  She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today with additional charges of Assault Cause Bodily Harm and Fail to comply with Release Order.

The 25-year-old male suspect was also lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released this morning to appear in court on August 28, 2023 on a charge of Assault Cause Bodily Harm.

The 21-year-old male victim sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital via ambulance to be treated.

 

Uttering Threats

On June 27, 2023, police received a report of a 55-year-old male who, while in conversation with a third party was threatening to kill his ex-wife with an axe. 

The suspect was arrested, and was lodged at Brandon Police Service. 

Further investigation led police to obtain a Public Safety Warrant to seize the suspect’s weapons due to the domestic nature of the threats.  Amongst the weapons seized were 9 long guns, 2 handguns, 2 bows and approximately 10,000 rounds of ammunition. 

The 55-year-old male suspect will appear in court on a charge of Uttering Threats and Careless Storage of Firearm X3.

 

Break and Enter to Residence

On June 27, 2023, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 300 block of Dennis Street.  Suspects forced the door open to the apartment overnight and stole an Xbox.

Assault

On June 27, 2023, following an investigation into child abuse which occurred on June 26, police arrested the 26-year-old father.  He was later released to appear in court on August 28, 2023 on a charge of Assault.

Both children, a one-year-old and a two-year-old are in the care of their mother and have received medical attention.

 

Utter Forged Document

On June 27, 2023, at approximately 3:30 pm, police responded to a report of a female who was attempting to cash a stolen government cheque using a forged/altered piece of government identification at a business in the 500 block of 1st street.  The 26-year-old female was arrested and found to be in possession of a small amount of meth.  She was later released and will appear in court on August 28, 2023 on charges of Utter Forged document, Public Mischief and Possess Meth.

 

Arrest Warrant

On June 27, 2023, a 15-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service, as she was aware of an outstanding charge of Assault. She was later released and will appear in court on August 29, 2023.
