Stabbing – Suspect Arrested

On June 26, 2023, police responded to a report of a holdup alarm at approximately 10:14 am at a business in the 800 block of Lorne Ave.  A second report indicated that an individual entered the business and stabbed a second individual. 

A 29-year-old male victim was located at the business and transported to hospital.  His injury is serious and he remains in hospital in stable condition.

A 36-year-old suspect was also located nearby and arrested.  He too had a minor injury, which was medically treated.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Aggravated Assault.

 

Sexual Interference

On June 26, 2023 shortly after 11:00 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence.  Investigation revealed that the cause of the disturbance was that a 25-year-old male had touched a 13-year-old female for a sexual purpose, which caused the other adults in the home to force the suspect out of the residence. 

Police apprehended the suspect when he attempted to return to the home.  At the time of his arrest, he was carrying a knife, contrary to his Release Order.  The victim did not receive any physical injuries, but she was treated in hospital for psychological trauma.

The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service.  He will appear in court today on charges of Sexual Interference, Fail to Comply with Release Order, and Possession of a Weapon.

 

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

On June 27, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm, police stopped a pedestrian in the 500 block of Princess Ave.  The 47-year-old male advised police he was in possession of nunchucks contrary to a court order.  He was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 24, 2023 on charges of Disobey Court Order, and Possession of Prohibited Weapon.

 

Breach of the Peace

On June 26, 2023, shortly before noon, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a business in the 1900 block of Queens Ave.  The male’s behavior was causing concern for employees, who were unable to prevent his actions from escalating.  The 48-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 

Arrest Warrants

On June 26, 2023, police located and arrested a 39-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was later released to appear in court on August 24, 2023.

On June 26, 2023, police located and arrested a 33-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Disobey Court Order X 5.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
