Break and Enter

At 9:20 AM Wednesday, police received a report of two sheds in the 600 block of 19th St that had been entered overnight. The first reported incident does not appear to have anything stolen from the shed.  The second report indicated that three bicycles and a STIHL weed trimmer were stolen from their shed.  Both incidents are still under investigation.

 

Break, Enter and Theft

At approx. 5:30 PM Wednesday, police took a report of a break and enter which had occurred sometime throughout the day, on Maple Ridge Cres.   The suspect gained entry to the residence through a basement window and once inside, stole an Apple iPad Air 2.  The incident is still under investigation.

 

Break, Enter and Theft

On Wednesday afternoon, a break and enter to a garage on Prelude Bay was reported to police.  The incident occurred between 10 PM Tuesday and 7:45 Wednesday morning.  The suspect(s) entered the garage and stole a Specialized Alibi bicycle, some assorted power tools and some Beats headphones.  This incident is still under investigation.

 

Assault Couse Bodily Harm   

At approx. 7:05 PM a report of an assault occurring in the 300-block alley between 12th St and 13th St, was received. A male was seen hitting a female at that location and then fleeing the area.   Officers attended and located the female victim, who was taken to hospital with facial injuries.  Officers also located the suspect, a 25-year-old Brandon male a short distance away.  He was arrested and will appear in court late r today charged with assault cause bodily harm and failing to comply with his court ordered Undertaking.  

 

Stolen Vehicle  

At approx. 7:50 PM a police took a report of a stolen vehicle.  The male indicated that he parked his 2015 white Kia Sorrento (MB Lic HJG 395) in the 500 block of 13th St on Sept 18 and noticed it missing on the 20th.  

 

Possession of a Weapon

At 10:45 PM Wednesday, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Maple Ave. as the registered owner of the vehicle was showing as a suspended driver. The driver turned out to not be the suspended driver, however a 43 year old male passenger was identified and found to be the subject of a Canada wide warrant for Parole violation.  He was arrested and during the arrest and subsequent search a Ruger 30-30 rifle and ammunition was located.  The male indicated that the items were his and he is currently prohibited from possessing either of the items.  The male was held in custody and will appear in court today charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (for a large capacity magazine), unauthorized possession of a weapon in motor vehicle, 4 counts of possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to a probation order, and public mischief.  All these charges represent new charges and are in addition to the Canada wide warrant.

 

Possession of Meth / Prohibited Weapon

At 3 AM today, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Stickney Ave.  The 27 year old female passenger of the vehicle was currently wanted for failing to attend for fingerprinting.  During the arrest process officers recovered a small amount of meth from within the vehicle as well as a police style baton.  Both the female and the 36-year-old male driver were arrested for possession of meth and well as possession of a prohibited weapon.  The driver was released with a court date of December 10.  The female was held or court today as she is currently bound by a release order which she was failing to comply with.
