Assault with a Weapon
On May 23, 2023, shortly after 6:00 pm, police responded to a report of a victim who had been assaulted by a suspect with a machete. The victim was located in the 1300 block of 5th street. The 31-year-old male victim received a non-life-threatening cut to his arm. He would not cooperate with officers when asked about details of the assault or the suspect. He was treated and released from hospital.

Public Mischief & Resist Arrest
On May 23, 2023 shortly before 9:00 pm, police stopped a male pedestrian in the 700 block of 10th street. The male provided a false name to avoid arrest, as police learned he was wanted on outstanding charges of Utter Threats, Resist Arrest X2, Possess Weapon, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, and Fail to Attend Court X2.
When police attempted to arrest the 17-year-old male, he resisted, and attempted to flee. Once he was in custody, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service. He will appear in court today with new charges of Resist Arrest and Public Mischief.
