Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday evening, police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of 6th Street and a male, known to police to have warrants, fled on foot. A short foot pursuit led to the arrest of a 37-year-old male of no fixed address. The male is wanted for over 20 counts of theft and possessing property obtained by crime. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is charged with further counts of failing to comply with a release order (5 counts) and possession of counterfeit money. He will appear in court in the morning.

 

Impaired Driving

At 3 am Sunday morning, police were called to a hotel on 18th Street for an intoxicated male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. The male had been observed driving by the caller prior to police arrival. A 21-year-old male from Carlyle, Saskatchewan was arrested and lodged for impaired driving and will be released from custody when sober.

 

Assault

At 5 am, Sunday morning, police were called to a local hotel for a disturbance. Two males had been causing issues inside the hotel and were being escorted out of the hotel by security when they assaulted the security officer. A 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, both from Brookdale, Manitoba were arrested by police and lodged at BCC. They will both be released later Sunday to appear in court in April. The security officer did not require medical attention as a result of the assault.

 

Other Arrests

Two persons were arrested for breach of the peace and one was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and will be released when sober.
