Warrants Executed

 

On Friday afternoon, police attended an address on 26th Street for an unrelated matter and located a 34-year-old Brandon male who was wanted for failing to attend court and failing to comply with his probation. The male was arrested and released for court in March.

On Friday afternoon, police attended an address on 11th Street for at the request of Parole to locate a 22-year-old Brandon male who was wanted as his parole had been revoked. The male was located, arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center.

On Friday evening, Winnipeg Police Service members were called to a disturbance at a restaurant. A 59-year-old male from Rivers was checked and found to be wanted by Brandon Police on an unendorsed warrant for breach of probation. He was lodged and will appear in court in the morning in Winnipeg.

Early Saturday morning, a 28-year-old male was checked by police in the 900 block of 10th Street and found to have an unendorsed warrant for breaching his probation order. The male was lodged for court in the morning.

 

Public Mischief

At 10:10 am Friday morning, a 55-year-old Brandon female called 911 to report a sexual assault in progress. Several members attended and the investigation revealed that the report was false. The female was located and admitted to making the false call. She was intoxicated and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center for release when sober. She will appear in court in April.

 

Domestic Assault

On Friday evening, a 22-year-old Brandon male, intoxicated on alcohol and drugs, assaulted his girlfriend at a local hotel by shoving her to the ground. Hotel staff intervened and held the accused until police arrived. The female victim did not require medical attention as a result of the incident. The male was lodged at BCC to appear in court in the morning.

 

Assault with a weapon / Aggravated Assault

At 5:30 am Saturday morning, police attended a residence in the 300 block of 2nd street or a male reportedly stabbed in the abdomen. The male was transported to BRHC with a non-life-threatening injury. The victim was highly intoxicated and not able to provide details of the assault however, police are currently seeking a female suspect for the assault. As of the time of this report, no arrest has been made. Police are investigating.

 

Other Arrests

Two persons were arrested for breach of the peace and one was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. All will be released when sober.
