Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

On December 18, 2023, at 4:42 pm, police responded to a report of a male brandishing a knife in front of patrons at a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street. Upon arrival, police located an 18-year-old male matching the description provided by the witnesses. Further investigation revealed the male suspect had brought out the knife and became aggressive toward others for no reason. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court this morning on a charge of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm

On December 15, 2023, at 6:00 pm, police received a report of a motor vehicle collision in the 1500 block of Rosser Avenue. Further investigation revealed that a suspect vehicle was travelling the wrong way on the one way street causing another vehicle to become involved in a collision. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. The operator then contacted police indicating his vehicle had been stolen but later recanted his report and admitted he was the one driving causing the collision. On December 18, 2023, the 19-year-old male turned himself in at Brandon Police Service. He was arrested and later released to attend court on February 8th on charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm and issued a HTA ticket for Failure to Exchange Particulars.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On December 18, 2023, at 6:30 pm, police received report of a 27-year-old male who had contacted another male contrary to court ordered conditions. The suspect male had attended to the victims place of work and later to his work Christmas dinner despite having a no contact order in place. He was located at his residence and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

Fail to Comply with an Undertaking

On December 17, 2023, at approximately 11:30 pm, police received a report of a 12-year-old youth who had not returned home for their curfew.  On December 18, 2023, she was located at home, arrested, and later released to appear in court on February 13th on a charge of Fail to comply with an Undertaking.

Arrest Warrants

On December 18, 2023, a 30-year-old male was located and arrested on an outstanding charge of Fail to Comply with Probation. He was lodged to appear in court today.

IPDA

On December 19, 2023, at 3:00 am, police responded to report of a disturbance in the 3100 block of McDonald Avenue. Further investigation revealed that a known intoxicated 38-year-old male had shown up at a residence unwanted and would not leave. He was located and arrested. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to be released once sober.
