Arson

As a result of an ongoing investigation from December 2nd, a 50 year old male was charged for arson relating to a vehicle fire. At approximately 4:46 am on that date a report was received of a vehicle on fire in the 2100 block of Currie Blvd. The suspect was spotted in the area of the fire and was later identified through video surveillance setting the vehicle on fire. The suspect was arrested and released on an appearance notice for court at a later date.

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Meth

At 9:33 pm, a subject was checked in the 1800 block of Brandon Ave and was found to have a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with his probation. The 38 year old male was arrested, and upon being searched he was found to be in possession of numerous small baggies of meth, a weigh scale, multiple cell phones, a large wooden buck knife, and a lock pick set. He was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possessing Break and Enter Tools. He was held in custody for court.

Assault

At 1:00 am, Police received a call of a male beating up a female in the 1500 block of Stickney Ave. The 31 year old male had gotten into an argument with the female and pushed her and struck her in the face. The accused was arrested and released for court at a later date.

Assault on a Police Officer

At 1:30 am, Police received a call of a male causing a disturbance at a residence on Westaway Bay. Upon Police arrival they located a 24 year old male who was causing the problems. When Police attempted to arrest the suspect he began fighting with them and during the process of this arrest the suspect spit on one of the officers. The suspect was charged with Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Police Officer. He was held in custody until sober and then released for court at a later date.
