Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.
A 31 year old Brandon was arrested following a traffic stop on Saturday afternoon. The man was driving while he was prohibited from driving Canada wide. After the arrest, he was searched and a quantity of cocaine was found in his pockets. The man was later released to appear in court in June on charges of Prohibited Driving and Possession of Cocaine.
A 35 year old man from Brandon was arrested on a warrant for Theft Under $5000. He appear in court on Saturday afternoon and was released.
At 0945 hrs a resident of the 1100 block of 7th St reported he was robbed and assaulted by 4 men in his residence. The victim reported he heard a knock on his window and when he answered the door, 4 men pushed past him, sprayed him bear spray and assaulted him. The suspects stole cash, a watch and sunglasses then left the residence. The victim had minor injuries as a result of the assault. The incident is still under investigation.
On Saturday evening, a man was walking in the 900 block of Rosser Ave East when he threw a pipe through a window in a building. A witness followed him until police arrived and he was arrested. A 52 year old Brandon man will appear in court in July on a charge of Mischief to Property under $5000.
4 people were lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act or for Breach of Peace.
One person was arrested on a warrant and released to appear in court in July.
