Residential Search Warrant – Suspects Arrested

On July 1, 2023, shortly before 7:00 am, police attended to a residence in the 600 block of 10th street to check for an individual who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. While at the residence, police learned of unwanted/unauthorized individuals inside, and received a request to assist in removing them. 

While inside the home, police observed ammunition in plain view, which prompted them to obtain a warrant to further search the home.

Members of BPS Major Crimes Section and Organized Crime Section assisted with the search warrant.  Located and seized were:

Canadian currency

Approximately 7 grams of suspected Cocaine

Approximately 8 1/2 g of suspected fentanyl

A dismantled New England 30-06 rifle

30-06 rifle ammunition

Compound Bow and Arrows

Bolt-action rifle

Bolt-action rifle with the stock cut down

Mortar Shell with firing tube, and a shell loaded into the tube

Marksman repeater .177 Cal BB gun

Various firearm parts

Ruger .22 caliber rifle with barrel and stock cut down and a .22 caliber round loose in the chamber

Armament airsoft Pistol

A toolbox with equipment to strip and clean firearms

A stolen Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun

An SKS style airsoft rifle

On July 1, 2023, a 20-year-old female, a 22-year-old female, and a 40-year-old male suspect were arrested from the home and lodged at Brandon Police Service.  They appeared in court and faced a variety of weapons charges including Possession of Explosives for Unlawful Purpose, Trafficking Cocaine and Fentanyl and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

On July 5, 2023, shortly before 2:00 am, police conducted a vehicle stop in the 2500 block of Victoria Ave.  One of the passengers of the vehicle was known to police to be wanted in connection to the above noted search warrant.  The 34-year-old male was arrested and the vehicle subsequently searched.  Police then located a loaded .22 caliber sawed off S/A rifle, and a machete.  The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on numerous weapons charges including Possess Weapon Dangerous, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle, Careless Storage of Firearm, Possess Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition, and several charges for breaching court ordered conditions.

Search Warrant July 1 2023

Pellet Gun/Bear Mace Incident – Suspect arrested

On July 5, 2023 shortly after 2:00 am, police responded to a report of a suspect who had fired upon a residence in the 700 block of 10th street with a pellet gun, and then sprayed bear mace in the general direction of the home.  Investigation revealed that the male fled the area on a bicycle. 

The 33-year-old male suspect was located and arrested nearby.  He was in possession of a knife and 1 gram of meth.  He was also to abide by a daily curfew.  He was lodged and will appear in court today on charges of Possess Weapon, Carry concealed Weapon, Possess Meth, and Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.  Nobody in the home was injured.

 

Break and Enter to Business

On July 4, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a business in the 200 block of 10th street.  The suspect entered the business overnight through the roof, and once inside, triggered an alarm at approximately 1:10 am before fleeing.  Nothing appears to have been taken.

Break and Enter to Business

On July 4, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a business in the 200 block of 18th street.  Suspects are believed to have entered the business on June 30, 2023 between 12:01 am and 08:30 am.  Once inside they stole a TV, coffee, a phone charging port and a bag containing a number of Indigenous ribbon skirts.

Break and Enter to Residence

On July 4, 2023, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the 400 block of 5th street.  Suspects forced their way into the storage room of an apartment building.  Once inside they stole backpacks containing personal documents, including a passport, birth certificate and SIN card.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On June 4, 2023 at 11:00 pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1100 block of 26th street.  A 26-year-old male passenger was to abide by a curfew with a Regina Saskatchewan address.  Following his arrest, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Arrest Warrants

On July 4, 2023, police located and arrested a 27-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Probation and Fail to attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.

On July 4, 2023, police located and arrested a 17-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

On July 4, 2023, police located and arrested a 37-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Disobey Court Order.  He was later released to appear in court on August 14, 2023.
