2025 Property Tax Payment Options For City of Brandon Property Owners
May 20, 2025
Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Finance Department reminds all property owners that 2025 property taxes are due by Mon, June 30, 2025, at 5 p.m.
Tax bills have been mailed and should arrive in mailboxes by the end of this week. Each mailing includes details on the 2025 municipal budget, property tax information, and the new provincial Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit.
If you own property within Brandon city limits and do not receive your tax bill by June 1, 2025, please contact the Finance Department at 204-729-2228 or email taxes@brandon.ca. Property owners are responsible for ensuring payment is made on time, even if a bill is not received. A 1.25% monthly penalty will apply to unpaid taxes starting July 1, 2025.
For more information on property taxes and assessments, visit brandon.ca/taxes-assessments. You can also view your 2025 tax and assessment details using the City’s Taxes and Assessments map: gisapp.brandon.ca/webmaps/taxassessment.
The City offers several convenient ways to pay property taxes:
1. Online / Electronic Payments
- Virtual City Hall (credit card payments): vch.brandon.ca
- Interac e-transfer, telephone banking, electronic funds transfer, or wire transfer
Please allow sufficient time for your financial institution to process the payment. Funds must be received by the City by 5 p.m. on June 30.
2. Tax Installment Plan (T.I.P.)
Prefer to pay monthly? Enroll in the T.I.P. program, which automatically debits your bank account on the 15th of each month. Payments are based on your most recent annual tax levy.
The deadline to apply for the T.I.P. program this year is June 13, 2025. Those who apply to begin the program later than January, will be required to make an initial payment for the year-to-date missed payments in that calendar year. Enrollment is available online at onlineservices.brandon.ca/updateinfo.aspx.
3. In Person
Visit the Finance Department at Brandon City Hall (410 - 9th Street) during regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
4. By Mail
While mail-in payments are accepted, they are not recommended due to the planned Canada Post work stoppage starting Fri, May 23, 2025.
If mailing your payment, consider an alternate method. The City will not extend the payment deadline for delays caused by mail disruptions.
