City of Brandon and Chervonohrad, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine Establish Twinning and Cooperation Agreement

Brandon, MB – In a historic move that strengthens international ties and fosters cross-cultural cooperation, the City of Brandon and the City of Chervonohrad, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine, have officially signed an agreement of twinning and cooperation. This agreement marks a significant step in the relationship between the two cities, which share common values and a commitment to the prosperity and well-being of their communities. 

Mayor Jeff Fawcett of Brandon and Mayor Andriy Zalivskyi of Chervonohrad came together in a virtual ceremony that celebrated the unity and friendship between their cities. The agreement outlines several areas of cooperation, including cultural exchanges, economic collaboration, and shared initiatives in education and environmental sustainability. Both cities recognize the importance of working together to address global challenges and to promote peace and understanding across borders. 

“We are thrilled to establish this partnership with our new sister city in Ukraine,” said Mayor Fawcett. “This agreement showcases the importance of collaboration and our shared vision for both cities. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring to our communities through this cooperation.” 

“We are honored to sign a twinning agreement with the Canadian City of Brandon to foster cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the areas of economy, culture, education, sports, tourism, and ecology, said Mayor Zalivskyi. “As we navigate the challenges posed by the ongoing war, we celebrate this historical moment and appreciate the support of our new sister city.” 

The City of Brandon is known for its vibrant community and rich cultural heritage, while Chervonohrad boasts a strong industrial base and a deep historical legacy. The twinning agreement is expected to open new avenues for trade, tourism, and cultural enrichment, benefiting both cities and their residents.
