2023 Canada Day Long Weekend Hours of Operation

Brandon, MB – Please be advised of the following hours of operation for over the 2023 Canada Day Long Weekend. 

Brandon City Hall (410-9th Street), A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex (638 Princess Avenue), Civic Services Complex (900 Richmond Avenue East), and Parks Complex (2020 McGregor Avenue) are all closed on Monday, July 3rd in observance of Canada Day. 

Brandon Transit will be running on Saturday, July 1st from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Transit Information Centre will be closed Monday, July 3rd. 

Brandon’s Community Sportsplex will be closed Saturday, July 1. 

The Eastview Landfill will be closed Saturday, July 1. 

Brandon’s Youth Centre will be closed Saturday, July 1.  

Brandon Municipal Cemetery is open to the public seven days a week from dawn to dusk. The Cemetery Office is closed Monday, July 3.  

All after-hours Public Works emergencies should be directed to the City of Brandon Public Works After-Hours Line at 204-729-2285. 

Regular hours of operation return Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. 
 

A reminder from Brandon Fire & Emergency Services, that pursuant to City of Brandon Fireworks By-law #7200, no person shall purchase fireworks, fire, set off, or otherwise ignite any fireworks in or above the City except under a permit issued by the Fire Chief. Additionally, if any fireworks are purchased at a retailer within the City of Brandon, the retailer must provide a waiver form for the purchaser to sign stating that the fireworks will not be set off within the City of Brandon. Individuals found to be in contravention of the Fireworks By-Law may face a fine of anywhere between $200 and $1,000. 

 

Celebrate Canada Day At the Riverbank!  

All members of the public to join us at the Riverbank Discovery Centre on Saturday, July 1 for Canada Day celebrations!  There is free entertainment for the entire family. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with the Canine Stars performing at the Fusion Credit Union Stage (FCU). Official opening ceremonies begin at 1 p.m. followed by a Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum fly by at 1:25 p.m. Celebrations will wrap up with fireworks at dusk.
