Brandon, MB – City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Services is excited to announce the expansion of “Tidy Up Tuesday’s” to “Tidy-Up Brandon”. Since 2018, workplaces, organizations, and individual residents have been invited to take part in beautifying their neighbourhood.
Workplaces, organizations and individual residents alike are encouraged to take 10 minutes weekly and spruce up the city through simple tasks like sweeping the sidewalk, picking up litter, pulling weeds, or tidying up the alleyways and parking lots in their neighbourhood.
Participants are encouraged to post a picture of their clean-up efforts, along with the #TidyUpBDN on Facebook or Instagram, to be entered in a draw to win weekly prizes every Friday, from June 2nd to September 1st! In addition, each post will also be entered into the grand prize draw, that will be announced at the end of the Summer!
Tidy Up kits, including gloves, bags, and safety information, are available for pick-up at the City of Brandon Recreation office, located in the A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex (638 Princess Avenue). Interested parties can call 204-720-2984 or email r.renz@brandon.ca to arrange a pickup time.
All types of community groups, whether it is a school or church organization, a corporate business or workplace team of employees, or even a collection of like-minded residents in their own neighbourhood, are invited to participate in this program.
