Spring Street Sweeping Program Is Underway

May 2, 2023

Brandon, MB – City of Brandon’s Streets and Roads Section has kicked off the annual spring street sweeping program to clean streets and boulevards of winter debris.

Streets and Roads crews have begun sweeping the priority P1A and P1 routes and will then turn their attention to the residential areas. The online Brandon Street Sweeping Map will be updated regularly once crews start sweeping in residential areas.

This program runs over several weeks and removes up to 1,000 sweeper loads of dirt and debris from city streets. The street sweeping program may involve posting of temporary no parking signs, please watch for signs in your area and remove vehicles from the affected streets so as the sweepers complete a thorough job. Failure to remove vehicles may result in a parking ticket and/or tow.

As the City of Brandon's residential spring street sweeping program includes the process of sweeping winter sanding debris off boulevards and City right-of-way's (which may include fronts of lawns if there is no boulevard), residents can minimize the potential for any property damage by clearly flagging any underground sprinkler systems that may be present.

More information about the City of Brandon’s Spring Street Cleanup Program is available by calling the Streets and Roads Section at 204-729-2290.
