The City of Brandon Mourns The Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon is mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada. All City of Brandon flags have been lowered. 

“It is with solemn remorse that I extend profound condolences on behalf of the City of Brandon following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” stated Mayor Rick Chrest.  “As the longest serving British monarch in history and having this June celebrated her Platinum Jubilee of 70 years on the throne, we are mindful and grateful for the leadership, grace and quiet resolve she has provided to the Commonwealth including Canada and indeed the world.  Our community will join millions of citizens around the world in mourning the passing of our Queen.” 

All City of Brandon flags were lowered on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022 to show support and solidarity with the Saskatchewan tragedy. The flags will remain lowered until sunset on the day of the funeral or memorial service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
