Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon wishes to advise the public that Brandon City Council will meet on Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th to deliberate the 2022 municipal budget.
Budget proceedings will take place in Council Chambers* with presentations from department heads, or their delegates, starting Friday, January 28th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Council will reconvene on Saturday, January 29th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the option to extend as needed. The scheduled timing of presentations is subject to change.**
Prior to Council’s deliberations, the proposed 2022 budget delivered by senior administration concentrates on drainage, recreation, and downtown improvements. It is representative of a $93.6 million operational budget and a $132.0 million capital budget, inclusive of $40.4 million in grants from other levels of government and a $3.1 million tax increase. All proposed budget documents can be viewed on the City of Brandon website at brandon.ca/budget/2022-budget.

*Council Chambers will be closed to the public and media due to COVID-19 restrictions. Presentations from each department will be via Microsoft Teams, with only City Council and limited administrative staff in Council Chambers during budget deliberations.
