City of Brandon Snow Plowing Update for January 9th, 2020

The City of Brandon Public Works Department wishes to inform residents that Streets & Roads crews have begun clearing Priority 1A Routes following the recent snowfall.

Work on Priority 1A Routes will begin in the east end of Brandon this morning and make its way along identified P1A streets across the City in the next 24 hours, with crews moving to other established Priority 1 Routes after that.

Snow-clearing in residential zones will be considered at a later date. However, all residents are encouraged to visit http://snowmap.brandon.ca/ for regular updates on City of Brandon snow clearing operations throughout the winter season. The site also includes printable PDF maps of each Residential Zone (including which Priority Routes run through each zone) for future reference.

To facilitate the above noted clearing of Priority Routes, an overnight parking ban on all seasonal snow routes will be in place beginning at 12 a.m. Friday, January 10th  and ending at 8 a.m. Friday, January 10th along the following streets:
 

•             Rosser Avenue from 34th Street to 13th Street East

•             Princess Avenue from Whillier Drive to 13th Street East

•             Ninth Street from Pacific Avenue to Princess Avenue

•             Tenth Street from Princess Avenue to Pacific Avenue 

•             Louise Avenue from 13th Street to 18th Street
 

As per the City of Brandon Traffic Bylaw, it is an offence for any person to park or allow to remain parked any vehicle or portion of a Snow Route where a parking restriction applies. Vehicles which remains parked along these noted routes between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. may be subject to a ticket or a tow.
