Beautiful Discoveries Await With Brandon’s Open Garden Tours

July 14, 2015

Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon’s Community Development Department invites the public on a tour of some of the community’s most unique and breathtaking gardens during the Brandon in Bloom Open Garden Tours being held on July 18th and 19th, 2015.

This year’s Open Garden Tours will be held over two days at various locations across Brandon, allowing the public to visit each one for a different conversation about gardening, where they can learn about different types of flowers, innovative garden design, and also receive tips on how to create their own unique gardening space.

“With 10 garden locations registered, there is no shortage of inspiration for those who go on this year’s Open Garden tours,” says City of Brandon Community Development Programmer Rachelle Levesque. “Each garden offers something distinctly different and, as an added touch, the tours will feature local artists performing either guitar or fiddle at each location. This weekend’s Open Garden Tours are your opportunity to truly take in the beauty of Brandon.”

A full list of residential gardens open for self-guided tours on either Saturday or Sunday can be found at www.brandoninbloom.ca. Garden tour times run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with each location’s specific tour availability listed on the website.

In conjunction with Doors Open Brandon heritage tours running concurrently this weekend, a FREE kick-off BBQ will be held on Saturday, July 18th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Dome Building on the Keystone Centre Grounds. There is no admission for the BBQ, though donations are being gratefully accepted in support of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba’s continued restoration of the Dome Building.
