IMPORTANT NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS

                     BRANDON SCHOOL DIVISION                    

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the following days SEPTEMBER 13, 14, 15, 18 and 19, 2023, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Brandon Votes Office, 2nd Floor, Clerks Office, Civic Administration Building, 410 – 9th Street Brandon,

I, or my designate, will receive nominations for the offices of:

  • SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE - Wards 1 (one position) and 2 (one position)

The nomination deadline is TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 AT 4:30 P.M. Nominations cannot be accepted after this day.

A person is qualified to be nominated for and elected as a trustee of a school board, if the person

  • is a Canadian citizen;

(b)   is of the full age of 18 years, or will be of the full age of 18 years at the date of the election;

(c)   is an actual resident in the school division or school district, and will have been so for a period of at least six months at the date of the election; and

(d)   is not disqualified under any other provision of this Act or under any other Act, and is not otherwise by law, prohibited from being a trustee or from voting at elections in the school division or school district.

All nominations shall be made in writing and shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) voters of the ward. Each nomination shall also be accompanied by the candidate’s declaration of qualification.

Nominations must be filed IN PERSON at the above location by the candidate or an official agent, on the date and hours specified. To obtain a nomination paper, and/or candidate’s declaration of qualification, contact the SEO at the email address listed below.

Nomination papers not accompanied by the required documents and not properly filed shall be rejected.
