Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on enhancing green spaces in communities.
Trained volunteer judges evaluate the achievements of the entire community; municipality, businesses, institutions, and residents including volunteer effort. Brandon will receive an overall bloom rating based on the score we receive on the following criteria: Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry, Landscape and Floral Displays. Community involvement is also integrated into all aspects of the evaluation. Throughout the year, City of Brandon will collect information that is relevant to the 6 categories and put them into a book that showcases these improvements.
