APPLICATION TO VOTE BY MAIL

Application To Vote By Sealed Envelope 2026

A voter who is unable to go in person to the voting place or vote in advance, may apply in person, in writing or by email to the Senior Election Official at the Brandon Votes Office, 1st Floor, Civic Administration Building, 410 – 9th Street, Brandon.

If applying by mail or email, a voter may apply between July 30, 2026 and October 23, 2026.  Photocopies of identification must be enclosed. A voter applying by mail or email will receive a sealed envelope ballot package by regular post, or by making alternative arrangements with the Senior Election Official following the close of nominations.

If applying in person, a voter may apply between October 1 and October 23, 2026.  A person voting in person may pick up a sealed envelope ballot package at the time of application.

In order to be eligible to vote in an election, a person must be

  •  a Canadian citizen

  • at least 18 years of age on election day; and

  • a resident or property owner of the local authority for at least six (6) months on Election Day (since April 28, 2026)

The next General Election takes place on October 28, 2026.
