General Municipal Council and School Board Elections to be held October 28, 2026

The next general municipal council and school board elections will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. This year the community of Brandon will elect its Mayor and Councillors, along with the Brandon School Division Board of Trustees.

This is an important opportunity for residents to participate in local democracy.

Disclosure of Offences

Candidates’ nomination papers are required to disclose any offences that they have pleaded guilty to, or been found guilty of, under the Criminal Code (Canada), the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada), the Income Tax Act (Canada), or The Income Tax Act of Manitoba. These disclosures must be published on the local authority’s website by the Senior Election Official. Candidates are not required to disclose an offence under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Canada), the Young Offenders Act (Canada), or an offence for which they were granted a pardon under section 748 of the Criminal Code (Canada).
