Brandon Transit provides reliable and affordable public transportation throughout the City of Brandon, offering fixed-route bus services and Access Transit for residents with mobility challenges. General Information

1. Passengers are requested to deposit the correct fare upon boarding the bus.
2. Schedule times may vary due to the road, weather or traffic conditions.
3. Passengers are to refrain from smoking while on the bus.
4. For safety reasons, passengers are requested not to put arms or hands out of the Transit bus windows.
5. Passengers are asked to please exit buses via rear door only. 
   Passengers using mobility aids and those retrieving bicycles from the front-mounted bike rack may exit through the front door.
6. For safety reasons, passengers are to remain behind the yellow line while the bus is in motion.

How to Ride the Bus

When you board a Transit Bus move to the rear and find yourself a seat (those boarding after will appreciate it). All buses have preferred seating for the elderly, people with disabilities and pregnant individuals. This area is clearly marked. Strollers and umbrellas should be folded and parcels kept close at hand or under the seat. If you have to stand, please hold on to the overhead rails provided.

If the bus is crowded, ensure that you are removing your bag or backpack and hold the bag low near your knees. Place bus seats in the upright position and stand. Also ensure that you are as far to the rear of the bus as possible to allow for room for the next rider who boards.

Rear Door Helps

Once you have pulled the cord to let the driver know you want to get off at the next stop, prepare to leave by the rear door. This keeps things moving smoothly.

Route Identification

The destination signs used by the Brandon Transit consists of a route number and area to which a vehicle is going. The destination sign is located on the upper front of the bus and the same tour names listed in the schedules. The route information will also appear on the side of the bus near the front door.

Pets on City Transit Buses Policy

Definition: Any animal kept by human beings as a source of companionship and pleasure.

Policy: Service animals required by passengers for independent travel are permitted on a bus provided they are fitted with a proper harness. All animals must be kept off the seats. Small pets that are kept inside a proper cage or carrier will be permitted on a bus, provided the owner can safely store the container while onboard. Large dogs or other pets that could pose a threat to Brandon Transit patrons are not permitted on City buses.

Brandon Transit Operators may refuse service at any time, with any pet, should the operator feel an unsafe environment exists for other patrons on the bus.
