Other Diverted Waste
City of Brandon is committed to diverting as much material as possible out of the landfill cells to ensure we are being environmentally friendly as well as saving as much valuable space as we can. As of 2025, the Eastview Landfill is estimated to be full and closed by 2053. The more we can divert, recycle and compost the longer we will have.
The following other materials are currently diverted from the landfill cells:

Tires – recycled through Tire Stewardship Manitoba (Home - Tire Stewardship Manitoba).

Freon Devices (fridges, freezers, air conditioner units, dehumidifiers, water coolers) – these are recycled through PureSphera (PureSphera | Leader in GHG reduction | Bécancour).
