The Age Friendly Committee of Council was established in June 2013 by a motion of council, with its inaugural meeting held on August 27, 2013.
The purpose of the Age Friendly Committee is to:

- Housing
- Transportation
- Social Participation
- Civic Participation & Employment
- Community Support & Health Services
- Communication & Information
- Respect & Social Inclusion
