Hanbury Hill
Winter Amenities
Another recreation gem has been added to the many leisure and outdoor activity areas that Brandon has to offer. Hanbury Hill located just off Braecrest Drive in Sir Winston Churchill Park was officially opened on December 30, 2008. Hanbury Hill is a toboggan hill that all ages can enjoy for some winter fun. The hill provides a long enjoyable run for the older ages and a smaller run on the backside of the hill for the younger children.
Also located at the hill is a warm-up gazebo for those cooler winter days, as well the hill is lit so Hanbury Hill can be enjoyed into the evening.
Hanbury Hill was developed in partnership with the City of Brandon and the Construction Association of Rural Manitoba (CARM). The hill was developed in the summer of 2008, with thousands of yards of soil and fill trucked to the location that created the impressive length and size of Hanbury Hill.
Summer Amenities
The City of Brandon has partnered with volunteers from A&L Get Active and Healthy Brandon to create this unique mountain biking/hiking trail system, which was shaped and expanded from the former mountain biking trail left over from the 1997 Canada Summer Games.
