Patrol Section

Patrol is comprised of four platoons made up of one Staff Sergeant, one Sergeant and several Constables. The shift worked is a 12 hour shift with 4 shifts on and 4 off. Patrol Members are in uniform.

Duties of these members include:

• responding to calls for service on a 24 hour a day basis
• patrolling so as to detect or suppress crime
• dealing with traffic problems
• meeting the emerging community needs
• investigating hazardous/suspicious circumstances
• providing crime prevention advice as required, and
• providing a visible police presence

The Platoon Staff Sergeant reports directly to the Inspector i/c Operations.
