Downtown Safety Strategy
Brandon’s Downtown Safety Strategy was developed through five community town halls held in 2025. These sessions brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including:
- Community partners
- Members of the Brandon Police Service
- Downtown business owners and leaders
- Downtown residents
In total, 90 participants took part, contributing valuable insights, perspectives, and local knowledge. Using Mosaic Engagement as the professional tool in which to capture the information, a comprehensive summary of these discussions was prepared and is available for public review.

STRATEGY DOCUMENTS & UPDATES
Strategy
This initiative aims to enhance public safety in downtown Brandon through a coordinated approach that includes targeted enforcement, community engagement, interagency collaboration, crime prevention, environmental design, and integrated social supports.
Over the past year, a series of plans and priority actions were identified to strengthen and support the downtown corridor. These priorities were shaped through publicly held meetings with Brandon residents and reflect community-identified needs.
The 2025 Downtown Strategy Plan for BPS was taken from the Engagement Summary and outlines the key factors and deliverables, along with how the Brandon Police Service is currently addressing or working toward each item. You can find this document here:
