Regarding By-Law No. 7438 - to Amend Borrowing By-Law No. 7338

To pay for the Southwest Brandon Wastewater Servicing Project

The Council of the City of Brandon at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Civic Administration Building (2nd Floor), 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM will hold a public hearing and consider giving 1st reading to By-Law 7438 to increase the authorized borrowing authority from $30,000,000.00 (Thirty Million Dollars) to $40,000,000.00 (Forty Million Dollars) to pay for:

The construction of new wastewater infrastructure and system upgrades in order for the City to provide wastewater servicing for southwest Brandon.

Total estimated project cost of $40,000,000.00 will be funded by borrowing.

The borrowing will be repaid over 20 years at a maximum interest rate of 7.50% per year.

The annual repayment amount will be no more than $3,923,687.67 to be levied through water utility rates on a per cubic meter basis.

Copies of proposed By-law No. 7438 are available to the public in the City Clerk’s Office, 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, during regular office hours 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or listed under Public Notices on the City’s web site at www.brandon.ca.
