Regarding Borrowing By-Law No. 7411 to Pay for the Purchase and Retrofit of a Police Operations Centre

The Council of the City of Brandon, at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Civic Administration Building (2nd Floor), 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 7 p.m., will hold a public hearing and consider giving 1st reading to By-Law No. 7411 for the following proposal to borrow $2,800,000.00 to pay for:

The purchase and retrofit of a building for the purpose of a Police Operations Centre.

Total estimated project costs of $4,500,000.00 will be funded by:

  1. Police Reserve $1,700,000.00
  2. Borrowing By-Law 7411 $2,800,000.00

The borrowing will be repaid over 10 years at a maximum interest rate of 6.625% per year.
The annual repayment amount will be no more than $391,774.68 to be levied annually as part of the general municipal levy.


Copies of proposed By-law No. 7411 are available to the public in the City Clerk’s Office, 410 – 9th Street, Brandon, during regular office hours 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or listed under Public Notices on the City’s web site at www.brandon.ca.
