Provincial Project Alert: 18th Street Paving Starts Tuesday, May 20

Weather permitting, construction on the northbound lane of 18th Street will begin from Aberdeen Avenue on Tuesday, May 20. Please be mindful of reduced speed limits, equipment, and workers in the area.

The project will be completed in four stages and includes minor concrete curb repairs, milling, and paving. The first stage is expected to take 5-6 days, with the remaining stages expected to take three to five days, but schedules may vary due to weather, traffic, and road conditions.

Work initially started last fall, completing the first six stages. The remaining stages are as follows:

  • Stage 7: Aberdeen Ave to Queens Ave (Northbound)
  • Stage 8: Queens Ave to Park Ave (Northbound)
  • Stage 9: Park Ave to Queens Ave (Southbound)
  • Stage 10: Queens Ave to Aberdeen Ave (Southbound)

Safety Reminders:

This work involves the application of road oil, which can be hazardous especially to children and pets. Please exercise caution and keep a safe distance from the road.

As this is a provincial project, any inquiries should be directed to the Province of Manitoba. More info can be found online at https://www.manitoba511.ca.
