Police News Release - September 5th, 2025

Assault

On September 4th at 11:20PM police attended a residence on Willowdale Crescent due to a disturbance call.  A female with a black eye and bloody lip answered the door. Upon a disclosure of assault, the 44-year-old male within the residence was arrested. He was later released via Undertaking with a court date of September 5th, 2025.

 

Assault with a Weapon / Resist Arrest

On September 5th at approximately 2:42 AM, BPS officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of 4th Street. The complaint involved a 30-year-old male attempting to assault a 24-year-old male with a screwdriver.

Upon arrival, officers were met by the 30-year-old male exiting the residence. He initially resisted arrest. A screwdriver and a metal rod were recovered at the scene. The victim did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

The accused was held in BPS detention cells and will appear in court in the morning.

 

Possession of a Weapon / Theft Under $5000

On September 4th at approximately 6:00AM an employee from a business in the 1500 block of 1st Street reported a female was in the restaurant acting erratically and talking to herself. She had also been there the night before and had stolen merchandise. Police attended and found the intoxicated by drug female to be in possession of a knife. The female was arrested, held in BPS detention cells, and will be released via Undertaking once sober with a future court date of November 13th, 2025.

 

Fraudulently Obtain Food

On August 28th, 2025, an employee from a business in the 800 block of 18th Street North reported a dine and dash of nearly $60.00.  The incident was captured on video. The female suspect was identified and on September 4th was arrested. She was later released via Undertaking with a court date of November 17th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On September 4, 2025, at approximately 12:28 PM, a 22-year-old female was located and arrested at her residence in the 2300 block of Brandon Avenue. The arrest was executed on the strength of an outstanding Warrant for Arrest due to Failure to Attend for Identification.

Following her arrest, she was released on an Appearance Notice with a scheduled court date of October 2, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On August 31st, 2025, two females, aged 74 and 43, reported being assaulted by the same 26-year-old female suspect. The assaults involved the victims being pushed, having their hair pulled, and receiving strikes to the head and face.

The suspect was located and arrested on September 4th, 2025. She was held in BPS detention cells for court. The accused is facing two counts of Assault.

 

Obstruct Justice / Breach of Court Order

On August 2, 2025, police were advised by the Crown’s office that a 36-year-old male (who is currently in Brandon Correctional Centre) had been contacting a female witness and instructing her not to attend court.

A Production Order was obtained for BCC phone records, which revealed that the male had placed approximately 57 calls to the witness between July 7 and August 26, 2025. In several of the recorded calls, he could be heard telling her not to appear in court.

At the time of these communications, the male was also bound by a court-ordered condition prohibiting contact with the witness.

He was arrested on September 4th and remains in custody. He will appear in court on September 5th, 2025.

 

Arrest Warrant

On September 4th at 3:13PM BPS officers attended Probation Services and arrested a 38-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply Probation.) She was held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on September 5th, 2025.
