Police News Release - September 26th, 2025

Arrest Warrants

In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested on the strength of their warrants. Three were released on Appearance Notices while one was held for court in the morning.

 

Possession of Child Pornography

On August 24th police received a call reporting a 55-year-old male had lost consciousness in a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street. While in medical distress a witness used his phone to try to contact a family member… however there were pictures of naked youth as his screen saver. The phone was turned over to the police.

The male was taken by ambulance to Brandon Regional Health Centre and treated for his medical concerns.

On September 25th police members attended to his residence to arrest him for Possession of Child Pornography. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a court date of December 8th, 2025.

 

Mischief Under $5000 / Unlawfully in a Dwelling / Theft Under $5000

On September 25th at 8:59 p.m. the accused, a 46-year-old male, was located at a business in the 700 block of 10th Street and arrested. He was held in BPS detention cells to attend court in the morning on September 26th, 2025.  

 

Breach of Probation / Possession of a Weapon x5

On September 25, 2025, at approximately 9:32 p.m., police responded to a report of an attempted robbery in the 1500 block of Rosser Avenue. A male suspect reportedly brandished a machete and demanded money from a victim. The victim fled on foot, was not injured, and did not surrender any property. The suspect left the scene on a bicycle and was located a short time later in Dinsdale Park, where officers recovered the machete in his possession. The 34-year-old male was arrested and later released on an Appearance Notice. He is scheduled to appear in court on December 8, 2025.

The robbery investigation remains ongoing.

 

Breach of Undertaking

On September 25, 2025, at approximately 10:25 p.m., police arrested a 63-year-old male for breaching a No Contact Order involving his ex-wife. The male was located at his residence in the 200 block of 8th Street. He was held in custody and scheduled to appear in court the following morning.

 

Breach of Court Orders – Two Arrested

On September 26, 2025, at approximately 3:36 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Frederick Street. Two occupants of the vehicle were found to be in breach of court-ordered conditions.

A 21-year-old male was found to be violating a No Contact Order, and a 33-year-old female was breaching the curfew condition of her Undertaking. Both individuals were arrested and held in custody to appear in court in the morning on September 26th, 2025.
